OGAME TIPS / STRATEGIES
If you have any tips or know of anything that should be added, please Submit (on bottom of page).
Step by step GalaxyTool
Setup
Now you can spy and analyze any alliance or player "Because the impossible is not an option ! "
this article is also posted in my OGame Tools section This is one of my favorite OGame supplement site. As the name states it collects OGAME statistics. You can look up a player or alliance and peak into his statistics (ranks, points, resources and so on). Its very easy to use, all you need to do is type the alliance or player name into the search field and colorful statistics pop-up. Your probably wondering how this site works? The first thing I must say is that it has the potential to incorporate all OGame servers in every country, impressive! However currently not all servers are in the database, but that is not a problem. If the server you play on is not listed, all you need to do is supply the site (OGame Statistics) with a unused account, Simply by filling out a form on this site http://ostat.upasika.org/contact/ Written in Python with the web
framework Django, Ogame Statistics uses many other technologies. Now you can spy and analyze any alliance or player "Because the impossible is not an option ! " Posted: 04/09/2008 by: Trojan
Strategically set up your OGame, Positioning and 300+ field planets Do you really want to rule the universe you play in? Or at least be a heavy weight? Well if yes keep reading. What I’m about to say, many players already do without thinking of it. But this is for the new players who haven’t started over many times. I myself have started to play OGame a while back, and over the years of playing I was banned, I quit, I gave away my account and so on… What I’m saying is I started from scratch many times. I must say that I became very proficient at micro-managing my start up empire. At first I build up your mines so that I am comfortable with building many colony ships (one after another); well you will also need a small defense and some research. This ONE PLANET phase takes some anticipation, it seems to go very slowly, but step by step I’m coming closer to becoming that OGAME heavy weight. OK so now that you have I mildly developed my single planet (home-world) I start to colonize one planet after another. My advice is to colonize one planet on each galaxy. There are 9 galaxies in a universe, and 9 is exactly the limit of planets we can colonize ;) Also I prefer to colonize in the very middle of a galaxy, which is as close to system 250 as possible (we have 500 solar systems). This strategic positioning makes me close to any player! Now you know the drill, you know were to colonize! You colonize 9 planets (no matter the size). This phase is called the PLANET SEARCH. Don’t get used to your planets; don’t invest in crazy defense or other un-transferable things. Now we are looking for the BIGGEST planets (300+ fields). Let me give an example from one of my current accounts: I am in the Planet search phase, I have 9 planets sizes: 235, 235, 302, 298, 88, 163, 194, and 116. They are dispersed or should I say ‘thoughtfully positioned’ across the universe the way I mentioned above. I have a couple of colony ships waiting to colonize other potential 300+ field planets. Like you might think, I will abandon my 88-field colony and hope my next planet will be bigger. I keep doing this, abandoning the smallest planet and keeping the largest. I do this until all of my 9 planets are 300+ fields. Don’t forget about the positioning!!! Now after you have positioned and found the largest planets possible, you enter the next phase. The Economic Phase, you build up mines, defense, research …. So on. I’m not saying to be a turtle; you can raid and attack during all this, just I’m trying to show you how to get a strong ‘back bone’ for the long run. Its kind of like getting a good education, you get educated to get good job opportunities. In OGame you go through positioning and searching for large planets to finally have good options and possibilities; like having any player in convenient attacking distance, or just having the opportunity to develop a lot more levels of mines than others. This takes time and anticipation, but if you do so I guarantee you’ll be happy you did. I hope this tip on setting up your OGame move will help. Let me know what you think. How to edit OGame Alliance page (for beginners)
How to make alliance page in OGame?
1- make alliance or have sufficient right to edit 2- go to Alliance >>> manage alliance 3- then choose (External text) (Internal text) or (Application text) 4- right whatever you want in the form field (except offensive language and so on) 5- press the save button
How to edit the alliance page in OGame?
OK so now you want to
spice up your alliance page but not sure how, your in the right place. First
of all to manipulate and edit the look of the alliance page you will need to
use BBCode. What is BBCode? It is a special implementation of HTML, it uses
TAGS […] to edit text or
insert images. Example, You write (and see) this in the form field
Some basic examples:
Alliance logo:

Keep yourself unattractive, its not luck that one gets raided all the time and another player climbs the ranks without being attacked. Yes, some galaxies are more active than others but usually keeping yourself unattractive prevents attacks. What I mean by unattractive, is low resources, low fleet, high defense, high technology. Remember the more resources (metal, crystal, deuterium) the more defense you need to prevent attacks. Don’t forget about technology which multiplies the power of your shielding and defense structures (weapons, armor…). Large fleets make you a very attractive for raiders, fleet-save or simply have an appropriately large defense. You already know about fleetsaving I hope, but you can also use a similar technique when you spot approaching espionage probes. Of course you have very little time to react, but if you have about 10 seconds, go for it. Go to your fleet select all ships, set mission to transport, and load as much resources as possible, then send it out any ware. Once the espionage probes spy your planet recall your fleet. This way you will appear unattractive, little resources, no fleet, and a defense system will guarantee avoiding attacks. This is the same process as when someone is attacking you. Hide your resources, click on anything to be built or researched, but cancel later. This will make you look unattractive (little resources) to anyone spying on you, but actually you will have a lot of resources hidden. Those solar satellites are easy targets; you don’t need them hanging around. Actually I recommend not using them at all, well not until you want gravitation technology. Some other ways to stay unattractive is to join an alliance. This will scare off some would-be attackers, especially if the alliance is a large and strong one. This will make any one think twice before attacking. Be active, be active, be active. Inactive players with ( I or i ) next to them in the galaxy view are more likely to be scanned by other players looking for a easy raid. So if you need some time off, use vacation mode. These techniques are common among most OGame players, but for the new OGame players this info is very useful.

Topic: Beware of posting on ogametips.com Just a little advice. There is a well known OGame website ogametips.com. Before you post anything there beware because if its illegal in OGame, it will be reported and they will find you in-game and ban you. Here is a quote warning of this "Please do not discuss methods of getting around the multi-playing. Not only will you get banned in OGame, but you will also get banned from posting comments here at OGame Tips." That goes for any OGame cheat, OGame script so on. Remember you can always write that stuff here at OGameBlog. Either leave a shout (home), or write a message at the bottom of the page. I will be more than happy to write about it. :) If you have any tips or know of anything that should be added, please submit (on bottom of page).

Topic: Lucrative OGame Maneuver
This is one of my favorite OGame strategies which I will share with every OgameBlog reader. I do this all the time; it works very efficiently, especially on OGame players who haven’t read this tip article. Here is what I do, after finding an appropriate candidate to raid. That is I spy, then calculate my loss, my gain, and most importantly here, how large the debris field will be. (I do this with my calculators). Debris fields get very large, millions of metal, crystal, and deuterium! They are too large to ignore. That’s why I am giving away this lucrative OGame tip. I send about 7 espionage probes with the mission attack! (Only if there is no debris) because if there is a debris field you are all set. The reason why I do this is: espionage probes are fast, so they attack instantaneously. Of course they lose the battle. This results in a small debris field. Now that we have a small debris field, I send out as many Recyclers as possible, with the mission to recycle the debris. Recyclers are slow so they take about twice as long to get to the target. By the way, I calculate how long it will take my recyclers to get to the target (with my flight time calculator), and then calculate how long it will take my attacking fleet to get there, also with the same calc. OK so now I know the times of arrival. I send my attacking fleet to reach the target just a minute before my recyclers will (who were sent out first). This OGame maneuver allows for me to attack someone, which creates a huge debris field, and then harvest the debris before anyone else can. J This is also a warning. Pay attention to debris around your planets! How many of you have small debris floating around for days? This is very dangerous, because you can be a victim of such a sneaky maneuver. I clear my debris field religiously.

Topic: Bring the player count up
Look if you play on a boring universe its probably because their is not a lot of players. Newly opened universes get 15,000+ players the first couple of days, but then as time goes by and noobs who are at the bottom of the ranks start to fall out. The universe gets smaller and with that more boring, (no competitors to crash). It seems that the only ones left are the players with the good ranks. I my self am a perfect example, I have a top ranked account, however the universe is small 2800 players! I defiantly would quit this universe but I hate to give up all that hard work, so I stay. GameForge seems to do little about this problem, all they do is open new universes and also they "recommend" a universe to register. I find this a problem. Maybe they should do more marketing to fill up universes (their potential clients and our potential competitor). Or maybe they should have a universe with low counts collide with each other once in a while. I did some math. In every universe there is 9 galaxies, in every galaxy there is 499 solar systems, in every solar system there is 15 slots. Therefore: 9 x 499 = 4491 (solar systems) ; 4491 x 15 = 67,365 (slots). A full universe technically ( every player would have 9 planets total ) would be composed of 7,485 players. Well if GF doesn't want to fix this problem maybe we can. I figure, word of mouth is the best advertisement, therefore tell your friends, co-workers, colleagues... everyone about OGame. Tell them to register in your universe, and tell their friend about OGame, making a snow ball effect. This way the number of players will go up. I wonder if I'll get a thank you from GF for suggesting this ;).
comment by Peter
I know youre not
GF, and GF pretty much hates your site, but if there was some kind of
'reward' for signing people up (eg: res, fleet, dark matter bullshit, kudos)
.. then im sure ogame numbers would go up, as we would be motivated to
recommend the game..

If a higher ranked player is attacking you, and you decide not to use diplomacy or diplomacy doesn’t work, you are screwed. However you can also screw the higher ranked attacker. I will show you step by step how to do this, I had a similar situation lately and this is what I did. I was logged on to my OGame account and suddenly I see a blinking red message “a hostile fleet is approaching its mission is attack…” I was being attacked by a player in the top 200 position in the statistics. He was going to attack me in about 5hours. Time is critical in these situations! O, by the way I was attacked about 2 hours before by probably by a noob who got a good account from someone. He sent a pretty large fleet to attack me, which he did, however his entire fleet was wasted by my defense. I had a 20% moon chance (no success though). So now I had about 9million metal + 7 million crystal of debris floating around my planet. I sent out all my recyclers from my other planets, but unfortunately they didn’t make it in time. Someone else already harvested a nice debris field. I did get some of it back. I had 3 recyclers left (had more but the noob destroyed them during his attack), so I was harvesting with these 3 every five minutes, in this unexciting way I was able to harvest over 1.5 million resources! ( I quickly made a couple more recyclers). OK so that’s the background; a large debris field on which I was working hard to harvest; a bunch of large cargos heading towards my colony with a lot of resources; and now a hostile fleet attacking me in 5h. This player sent ten deathstars to attack my colony, he probably saw the large debris field, scanned me, saw a diminished defense, with a lot of resources on my colony, maybe he even scanned me with his sensor phalanx and saw large amounts of L. Cargo heading there? So he decided to attack. His ten death stars would destroy a big portion of my defense, which made me pretty upset. There was nothing I could do to stop him, he was much better than me. BUT, I didn’t give up. Here is what I did. I tried diplomacy, I wrote to him that I see him and by the time he would get here there would be nothing, ( no response). Then I wrote to him that if he attacks me he will be attacked himself by a couple of my high ranked buddies (no response). So now I knew that he is either no at his computer or he is determined to attack me. I quickly planned on spending my resources on research, a building, and some defense. The rest I would send out with my fleet, so he would get nothing or very little out of his attack. I accepted the fact that he would attack me and possibly destroy my defense, but still I didn’t give up. I am revengeful. I went to his alliance page, read a little and saw that his alliance was at war with “alliances x” and “alliance z”. So now I went to the statistics and looked for the best player in “alliance x” or “z”. I found about 10 players and sent them a message like this: I see that you are at war with “alliance a”. I am being attacked by one of there members. (10 deathstars). He will attack me in about 5 h. his cords are x:xxx:x If you are interested in nijaing his fleet write back and I will give more info. Thanks “player” Luckily one of them was close by and was very interested in crashing his fleet. For those of you that don’t know the plan by now, it is: The moment his fleet attacks me it will be heading back. I will calculate the exact server time it will return to his planet and tell the other high ranked player, who will send his larger fleet to attack him, which will attack the very moment his fleet returns. There is nothing he can do, he can’t recall, or change the speed, he is doomed to loose his returning fleet. This type of group mission deals with a lot of precision, communication, calculation so on. It sounds complicated do succeed in this however there are some tool to help. The one that will help you do the math is my OGame Flight Time Calculator : http://ogameblog.com/flight%20calc.htm You will find the duration and then add it with the server time. The only thing you need is his research levels. Its also good to know how long it originally took him to reach my planet (5h15min) this what I can figure out if hes going 100% speed or different. Another tool you can use to ninja in this way is OGame Ninja Timer (more info: http://ogameblog.com/Tools.htm ). So that is one way of ninjing someone. There is always a way to get revenge. No one is 100 % safe.

Topic: Dead-End OGame Technologies Dead OGame technologies! I see no sense in researching past those levels below. Well, maybe if you want to climb ranks in the statistics, especially the research stat. than it cant hurt. But other than that researching past the levels below is pointless.
Hyperspace technology – no need to research past level 8 Laser technology - no need to research past level 12 Ion technology - no need to research past level 5 Plasma technology - no need to research past level 7 Inter Galactic Research Network - no need to research past level 9, (9 planets connected) Gravitation technology - no need to research past level 1
On the other hand here are technologies that you should continuously upgrade in OGame. Espionage technology – The higher level, the better you spy, less info displayed when you are spied, the chance of shooting down espionage probes increase. Computer technology – The higher the level the more fleets you can use (attack, transport, espionage, deploy…) simultaneously. Weapons technology - Each level of weapons technology increases the weapon strength of units by 10 % of the base value. Shielding technology - Each level of shield technology increases the strength of the shields by 10 % of the base value. Armor technology - The effectiveness of the armor can be increased by 10 % per level. Combustion drive - Makes some ships faster by 10 % of the base value. Impulse drive - Makes some ships faster by 20 % of the base value. Hyperspace drive - Makes some ships faster by 30 % of the base value. Energy technology –

Topic: Improve your late night raid with useful day / night map As you already know in .ORG OGame you can fined many different nationalities. Many of which play from their home countries like lets say Germany. Well than this map below is a great way to improve your chances of a successful raid. Most players check their OGame during the day, probably several times. But at night the odds that they are logged in are slim. What I do is look on the map and pick a country that is in the middle of the night or in the very early morning. Next I look for players in game who are lets say are in a German alliance. This improves my chances for a good undisturbed raid many times. When looking through the galaxy I tend to look for and remember different nationalities so I can get them in the middle of the night.

Topic: Start raiding in less than 3 hours (for beginners) Quickest proven method to small cargos
Comment by Syvaris Hey man, thnx 4 the tips. I really like that guide int he middle, but i have a small problem with it. I wasn't off raiding in less than 3 hours, it actually took about a day to make my first small cargo, so you should change that little fact. Otherwise, you are brilliant.
